Training philosophy
Our philosophy is to offer the most comprehensive ultrasound training available. Our training courses are taught by instructors with years of industry experience and extensive knowledge of our Beef Image Analysis (BIA) software and of proper scanning techniques. We emphasize real world applications and hands on experience with both software and equipment.

Who should attend? Persons wishing to learn more about the UGC approved BIA software and the International Livestock Image analysis centralized processing lab and individuals wanting to complete a refresher course before attending the 2007 UGC certification process.

What should I expect to learn? Ranchers and technicians (certified or not) can expect to learn more about the latest software and proper scanning techniques for collection of 12th & 13th rib fat thickness, ribeye area as well as intramuscular fat and rumpfat. Attendees will be presented information necessary for participation in the Annual Proficiency Testing and Certification (APTC) process to be held in the summer and fall of 2007. Additionally, participants will be trained to use the UGC approved BIA software for collection of images necessary for the centralized ultrasound processing laboratory of the International Livestock Image Analysis Lab (ILIA).

What is the cost? The cost of the training is $500.00 per person for the Beef Cattle Ultrasound Short Course (payable in advance).

Is there a class size limit? Yes. In order to assure quality instruction, class size is limited to 12 participants.
